Concentration
Analysis:
I focused on how some teenagers think and act in some situations, such as depression, and how they harm themselves either mentally or physically. I give examples of 4 topics: media, drugs, self-abuse, and abusive relationships. I first focused on how media can "drown" people with negative energy and can expose people of their wrong doings. Piece #1 is placed in a city scene because I believe that media is mainly developed around large cities with a well concentrated amount of people. From experience, media can be very negative such as school shootings and bombings, or it can be excessively nice so that famous people can brag to their audience. My next focus was on drugs; particularly "party" drugs. Pieces #3, 4, and 8 explain how the sight of drugs have become normalized and seen as okay or even cool. However, drug use is very harmful to the body and can affect people mentally; especially adolescents, research shows. In pieces 5 and 6, I use repetition to explain how there are many different ways to abuse yourself with a single method. Finally, pieces 9 and 10 represent teens who have put themselves in dangerous relationships. I believe that it is harmful for younger people to put themselves in parental situations when they cant even sustain themselves emotionally and financially. These situations can restrict young people's lives because they are not ready to be parents; therefore, they cant live to thrive to their best self.
